Fire and Moisture Resistant Gypsum Board

Fire and Moisture Resistant Gypsum Board consists of higher density gypsum core reinforced with glass fibres and water-repellent (hydrophobic) additives, enclosed between paper for superior fire and moisture protection.

Popular Brands Available

FireMoistBloc Plasterboard

Fire Resistant Moisture Resistant (FRMR) Plasterboards have special additives which help in achieving both Fire Resistant and Moisture Resistant properties

Specifications

* Edges: Tapered & Square
* Size: 1830 mm X 1220 mm & 2440 mm X 1220 mm
* Thickness: 12.5 mm & 15 mm
* Applicable Standards: EN 520:2004, Type F & H1 ASTM C1396, Type X
* Board Colour: Pink face paper Brown reverse side paper

Application

* FRMR boards are recommended to meet the desired fire resistance in drywalls & false ceilings, beam & column encasement systems etc.
* Apart from Fire resistance & Moisture resistance properties the FRMR boards also help to achieve acoustic levels required, when installed as a system with different configuration of plasterboards.

FireStop MR Plasterboard

Gyproc FireStop MR consists of an aerated gypsum core with glass fibre and water repellent additives encased in, and firmly bonded to, strong moisture resistant paperliners that are pink in colour. Gyproc FireStop MR is a plasterboard that is suitable for drylining internal surfaces. Gyproc FireStop with water repellent addictives in core, is used in Gyproc wall lining and partitioning systems where both fire protection and moisture resistance is required.

Can FRMR boards be used in wet areas like bathrooms?

Yes, they are designed for areas with periodic humidity, but direct and continuous water exposure (e.g., shower enclosures) may require specialized wet area boards or additional waterproofing.

Are these boards suitable for exterior use?

FRMR boards are primarily for internal use. For external cladding, use products engineered specifically for outdoor conditions.

Do these boards help with soundproofing?

Yes, when installed as part of an acoustic system, they contribute to improved sound insulation

What is the fire resistance rating?

Fire resistance (typically 30-240 minutes) depends on system build-up (thickness, layers, method) and installation. Always verify with your manufacturer for specific ratings

How are the boards finished?

They accept jointing compounds and taping (such as Gyproc Paper or Fibre Tape), and can be directly painted, finished, or tiled.

What are the limitations?

Not ideal for continuous submersion or as external cladding; not recommended above 52°C for prolonged periods
